I am running PHP 5(.2.5) ... and the version of strftime is 5.1.0. The documentation of the function does indeed say that "%l" is supported, however, it doesn't seem to be.

Yes, that's the point of the modifier ... the "%l" does not work. Smile ...at least not in my version (2.6.14). Is this patched in the current version?

Keep in mind that letters embedded into images pose accessibility issues that should be dealt with. For instance, a link to "pronounce" the embedded letters could work around this.
