I have been having some major issues trying to get this to work. I am a novice to this script but I have installed tons of other scripts.

First I was having a problem during install with not being able to write to the templates_c dir. I found something on the board here that said if I set var $use_sub_dirs = false instead of true it may resolve this issue. I am up to the point in the install where it says Welcome to the installation script!
You can now create a new database or update your current database

But above this it shows several errors.

They are

Warning: fopen(db/local.php): failed to open stream: Permission denied in /home/webshos/public_html/tiki/tiki-install.php on line 306

Warning: fwrite(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/webshos/public_html/tiki/tiki-install.php on line 307

Warning: fclose(): supplied argument is not a valid stream resource in /home/webshos/public_html/tiki/tiki-install.php on line 308

Warning: main(db/local.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/webshos/public_html/tiki/tiki-install.php on line 309

Warning: main(db/local.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/webshos/public_html/tiki/tiki-install.php on line 309

I am sure this has something to do with me setting the above variable to false but I am not sure how to even make the script work without doing this.

it looks like the script is looking for the file db/local.php but this path and file does not exist.

Now if I continue on and try to create the database or upgrade the database I get the following error

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/webshos/public_html/tiki/tiki-install.php on line 27.

Any idea what might be going on?

Any help would be appreciated. I can send you any info you need or even give you access to my server if you can help

I also forgot to mention. this may or may not be important. I am on a shared server. All I have is cpanel and ftp access.
