Still, it looks like it covers the very same material as the existing discussion topic at http://www.phpinsider.com/smarty-forum/viewtopic.php?t=102.
I'm not sure why authors of these "php as template" articles are bothering to supply code with their discussion -- the code samples are typically straight PHP hello world examples that don't justify template systems in the first place. |

Honestly I have yet to see a decent template article on Zend. Most their articles are good though. Maybe one of us will have to sit down and write a article about templates from a template user, since it seems most of these guys have no idea what their talking about. _________________ "Imagine a school with children that can read and write, but with teachers who cannot, and you have a metaphor of the Information Age in which we live." -Peter Cochrane |

Ahem..."one of us" has published Zend articles, abet one and a half years ago: Part 1 and Part 2. I consider them "decent", although I would certainly want to highlight much more on the plugin framework that exists now (the goal of these articles was much more of an intro to the subject). _________________ Jason

Yeah there is definately need for an article which shows Smarty in larger-scale use. There are way enough "hello template world" articles. I wonder whether I should try to write such an article, or maybe one of the admins could like to do so. Hrm. |

I have an article on implementing MVC in the "real world" that will be the sample article for the June issue of PHP|Architect. This application makes heavy use of Smarty in the views, but I did not go into too much detail on the specifics of the templates in the article itself.
I will post a new Article Discussions topic when the article becomes available. _________________ Jason
