Hello everybody,
I want to renew my old website which exists since the year of 2000 (dreamweaver produced HTML with php code in it - REALLY UGLY!). I wanted to have things clean and easy and tried out many CMSs.
I recognized that all of them did many many things - but I wanted to port exactly the functionality of my old site. After testing nearly every CMS the last 6 month I decided to throw them away.
Then I found smarty and I recognized that I did not need any CMS - or - could write my own on top of it! Because the only thing that drove me trying out all these "websites made in a few clicks" progs was the wish to have clean HTML separated from php code! And smarty can be even more than that.
Thanks for this tool! |

If you get a chance, check out bitweaver at http://www.bitweaver.org/wiki/
It's a CMS that is totally XHTML 1.0 Strict and uses Smarty templates to keep presentation completely separate from business logic.
Hopefully this will become a trend.
Regards,
