I really like the feature that shows me how long the various parts of the template took to load (e.g. files). However, this level of detail is not enough and I frequently resort to microtiming stuff. It would be really great if the smarty debug window would offer more info about the currently generated page:
- which loops took how long (while, foreach etc)
- which query took how long
Thanks!

Have you thought of using a PHP code profiler? |

No, not really. Zend seemed a bit expensive right now. Can you recommend one? That would be very helpful!
Thanks! |

The point is, Smarty isn't really the place to be putting profiling code, it has performance costs. You won't get your query times from Smarty anyways. A php-level debugger would be the best place to profile your code. The Smarty compiled templates should show up there as well. I don't have a recommendation, you'll have to do some research. |
