I am the Chief Software Architect of a small company that provides remotely hosted applications and services through a large reseller base.
The latest product we are working on is a shopping cart application, and as it is all single source (ie. every persons cart is running from the same installation on our servers), we are implementing a tiered templating system with a number of complexities.
I printed out the Smarty manual and went through it over the weekend, and I have just implemented the basic framework of what we need.
I just wanted to say how impressed I am with the design of Smarty, as it isn't exactly what we need out of the box, but using the fantastic resource plugin interface I have made it -almost- precisely what we need with two simple resource plugins.
We will be using Smarty throughout our entire product range now, and whatever enhancements we come up with I will be sure to pass onto the development team for their inclusion if they wish in order to give back to the community as much as we can.
Great job guys, keep up the great work! |
