What could be the cause that indent doesn't work. I'm mean nothing happens, only in the html source code indent seems to work?

yes, indent works on the raw-string, so only the source-code is affected.
to make indent visible, use it inside <pre>...</pre> or <code>...</code> or sth like that, or maybe change the char to something visible:
{$foo|indent:4:"&"|nl2br} should be visible in the browser (though untested)

Well the {$foo|indent:4"&"|nl2br} doesn't work I testet things like that. But indeed <pre> is a wonderfull replacement.
How foolisch of me that I forget to use <pre>.

hmm, the "&" should have read ampersand+nbsp+semicolon. 'seems to be a bug in the forum (or is it my browser?)

anyway: good if pre works for you.
