Hi, it seems If have a variable in my template, and in the php file nothing is assigned to it. the template file and any templates displayed from there after nothing is displayed. For example. I have a php file which displays header.tpl, main.tpl, footer.tpl. If I have a variable in main.tpl and nothing is assigned to it in the php file only header.tpl is displayed, main.tpl and footer.tpl are not displayed.

Im guessing this is how smarty was developed to react to such a case. Do you know how I can change it to just remove the delimiters and anything inside of it.

Or if you think it might be somethign else couldya help me out?

Thanks.

the template containing the unassigned variable should be displayed, just the place where the variable was placed should be empty. set php's ini-settings error_reporting to E_ALL and display_errors to TRUE to investigate what's going wrong in your setup (and of course always have a look at the html-source and not only at the browser's output).

For the record, those setting were both on in my php.ini file

Still not working yet, I will look into it more.

Well duh, with me, I usually ask really stupid questions.
I just got back from work where we use the icky icky icky php-template engine software.

We dont use the $ sign before a variable. In smarty you do. That was the problem.

Thanks anyways
