As you may or may not know, the PHP.net website has a documentation quick lookup feature built into the URL. For instance, to lookup the strpos() function in the php manual, simply go to the URL:

php.net/strpos

The same goes with the Smarty manual. Example, to quickly lookup the documentation on {foreach}, use the URL:

smarty.net/foreach

You can now thank me for saving you countless hours of looking stuff up Very Happy

This is very good - a quick guess to locate where sufficient information about the section of the manual may be.

Here is my suggestion:
You can think of error management in Smarty, where, once it detects a block code has error, it can put a link to the Manual itself.

For example, if there is a parse error in {foreach} tag, in the error message, you can relink a text to:
Code:
http://www.smarty.net/foreach
for more details or help.

By this way, a developer will have quick access to the Manual in case of errors. This feature is also with PHP. But they poorly link it to the local computer (local host) only.

Thanks.

Just came accross this post and wanted to comment. I have been using this lookup method since we first started using smarty years ago... it has saved so much time. Thanx for all your efforts.
