Resource plugin seems to get unneccessary call

I have a resource plugin (created using $Smarty->register_resource()) and noticed that each time a resource is included there are two calls to get_timestamp() and one to get_source(). I havn't checked the code but is the doubled timestamp request necessary? Or just too difficult to remove? (using 3.0b6). Seems a bit wasteful since my resources are in a database.

Then again I really should be caching anyway.
