This has absolutely nothing to do with Smarty itself, but PHP.. but...
Check php.net for getimagesize(), $_FILES, move_upload_file() etc etc etc.. google also, there's _hundreds_ of pieces of infomation about regarding this matter.. all of which will cover it better than a "quick n dirty" explanation here.
Hope this info helps (a bit?)

Hmm.. meaning? I spend more time coding PHP, admining servers and running a business than I do posting here =)
My current Smarty project (SMUP) does exactly what you're asking.. SMUP == SMart UPloader and is a complete PHP / Smarty based upload manager based on accounts or anonymous uploads.. MySQL table manipulation for adding / modifying new fields... complete SysOp backend etc. The customer seems more than happy with things so far with its progress =)

Hmm.. with respect, how about you use your nugget instead?
I've already given you hints / ideas of what / where to look etc.. I'm _not_ going to do your work for you! Neither is this a PHP tutorial site (admins please correct me if I'm wrong).. but a community of and for Smarty users. While one path may cross the other, what you're aiming to achieve has _nothing_ to do with Smarty whatsoever, which makes any posts on the subject really, off-topic, IMHO.
In regards to my OP, 'move_upload_file()' should have actually been 'move_uploaded_file()' but hit http://php.net/ and all should become clear. If it doesn't, you're reaching too high.

Whose going to help you with that attitude? Did you notice how many posts received 0 replies? Count yourself lucky and start thanking the people who take their personal time to respond to you. If I wasn't on holiday I'd be sending you some whoopass. |
