I am using smarty framework. My php website with smarty framework taking too much time to load. When i checked the performance with webgrind i found smarty rendertemplate and smarty display function and fetch function taking too much time to load. It is taking more than 17 seconds to load. It making our website slow. How we can resolve this?

Please help me..

17 seconds is far too long. Are the templates already compiled? Are you using caching? are the compile/cache files getting written to disk ok? Are there any errors in the php error log? Is your server under any extreme traffic loads?

The templates are already compiled and also cached, srver is not under any traffic. Then also it is taking too much time. I think it is taking too much time to work smarty-> display, smarty-> fetch functio nand also renderTemplate function

Something is up, that is far from normal. Does a vanilla installation of Smarty do this? Can you profile your code?
