Am wondering why this doesn't work. Is there a way I can copy the string resource and make a custom one where this would work? getTemplateVars does not see the test var.
Code: | $smarty = new Smarty();
$smarty->fetch('string: testing {assign var="test" value="one"}');
echo $smarty->getTemplateVars('test');

1.) $smarty->fetch() does return the content. To display it use $smarty->display();
2.) Variables assigned within the template are known only within the template.
$smarty->getTemplateVars() does see only variables assigned to the Smarty object. |
