Am very new to smarty. I tried and moved a wee bit forward. My footer page which is the footer.tpl has a few hyperlinks to other pages.
Code:

<a href="aboutus.php" title="About">About us</a>
<a href="contactus.php" title="Contact">Contact us</a>
<a href="policy.php" title="Privacy policy">Private policy</a>
<a href="terms.php" title="Terms and conditions">Terms and conditions</a>


I have converted all pages from php to tpl. Now how do i link them. Should I use aboutus.tpl instead of aboutus.php?

No. You link to what your visitors see. They don't see your templates.
