|
|
Hello,
I'm new to smarty, but already find it one of the most valuable tools I have ever seen for web developing! Thanks for the good work!
I'd like to find out is someone has written a plugin to email the debug window output? If I were to write this, should it be a function, output filter, pre or post filter? I'm not exactly sure which plugin model to use.
I have a web based db application, and I would like to email the debug window output when there is a db query problem. Would help me track down some of the template problems. However, the debug window is not shown at the client site. Is this even possible?? I already have it emailing me some of the php session information, among other things, but the smarty debug window would be icing on the cake and definately help troubleshoot further. Thanks

you can configure smarty to use your own custom-tpl, simply set $smarty->debug_tpl.
write your own template that mails itself. you can use {capture} to get the contents into a variable instead of beging dumped on the screen. |

ok, that might actually work. I see there is a {debug} function also that I might can use to dump the debug output to a temporary template and then mail that. Thanks |
