Hi!

I have problems installing my smarty-driven website. If a put the scripts into my root directory I get the following error:
Quote:
Warning: file_exists() [function.file-exists]: open_basedir restriction in effect. File(../plugins/modifier.stripslashes.php) is not within the allowed path(s): (/www/htdocs/stevan/) in /www/htdocs/stevan/smarty/core/core.get_include_path.php on line 34

After moving them into a folder, e.g. "website", everything works fine.

I've the following structure:

+---smarty
| +---core
| \---plugins
+---templates
\---templates_c
...
scripts

I didn't change the configuration of Smarty. What do I have to do in order to get my scripts working in root directory? Seems to be a problem concerning the plugin-folder... (There were some other problems with a similar error message... but they disappeared after some experimenting)

EDIT: Now there are even more "open_basedir restriction"... it seems as fi all plugins are concerned...

Yes, I do. Smarty 2.6.0. I want to stress, that I didn't change the paths in Smarty - but it works. The errors occure only, if the scripts are in root directory. So, what shall I do.

what "root-directory" ? you mean "/" ?
maybe you should read what open_basedir means. it's somewhere here:
http://php.net/manual/en/features.safe-mode.php#ini.sect.safe-mode

I think of the home directory, in my case www.stevanlutz.de/ (/www/htdocs/stevan/). I wonder, because if i put the scripts into a folder on a lower level, e.g. www.stevanlutz.de/website/ (/www/htdocs/stevan/website/) everything works fine...

Also folgende Hierarchie:
Ordner "smarty"
Ordner "website"
|- Unterordner (templates, templates_c etc.)
|- Skripte

I am having the same problem. I thought for sure I had found the thread that would solve it when I read this post. But, alas not so. Sad Any other ideas?
