I am wondering what sort of techniques you guys use to make your apps translatable - or even just so someone could easily change the text...

Obviously they could edit the template file, but if I make any changes to that template, they basically need to re-do all the "translations"...

Additionally, and perhaps more troublesome, is the fact that some things are returned from the server (AJAX calls)... and so, for example, I have "You entered an invalid password" which is created on the server side and there really isn't a way someone could change it, except for something like

if response = "you entered an invalid password" response = .....
