I was wondering is there a section or a site that has a quick documentation (1~2 pages) of Smarty so that it can just teach me how to tell PHP to use which template, how to store the info in PHP and how to make the stuff show up in the template?

Just look at the right part of the homepage. There you'l find a a document. I believe its quick and dirty fast.
Anyway the documentation is one of the best there is. So once you read the first part you'll only need that documentation. And some curses with array's
