hello,
a friend gave me a project he created using smarty. all of his template files end in .html. he doesnt remember what version of smarty he used. Have the requirements changed for templates? do template files have to end with .tpl or can you use .html?

It is up to you. 
Check the smarty class file to find the version he used--if you are planning to upgrade, there is an outside chance you may need to do something with the templates. |
