Sometimes I want to comment out a section of a template that contains comments. It causes an error - Smarty ends the comment at the first *} and any thereafter cause problems. |

You know, you can't do that in PHP either But PHP at least has alternate forms of comments. Really, the only reason I can see for this is to comment out code chunks during development. Try this instead to temporarily comment out code while avoiding nested comments:

...won't be executed
{/if} |
