I just would like to know whether smarty works with php version 4.0.4??

Or are there any solution to make smarty work under this particular php environment??

From the documentation:
"Smarty requires a web server running PHP 4.0.6 or later."

Thanks Duncan.

But After a lot of testing, I do manage to get smarty work under php 4.0.4

The php version in my web server is 4.0.4pl1

I just need to specify clearly the smarty directory(templates & templates_c), I can actually get smarty to work!!!

The smarty version I am using is 2.5.0

Just sharing this information to the public!

One thing:-

I also use some other php public library class such as PHPGACL, which requires php with version 4.2 or higher. But it do also work under 4.0.4pl1! Just wondering why?? Shocked

You might get it to work, but it is not supported because some features of Smarty require functions of PHP that do not exist prior to 4.0.6. You'll likely run into them eventually.
