Smarty

Hello All,

I am re-writing my website so that the database is in the "cloud" and website itself will now be useing smarty.
I am wanting to write a plug-in now, so that it can handle XML data feeds. Ive uploaded an example xml document, to allow me to explain this better.

How would you go about writing plugin for this?

I started off confident, fetching the XML data useing simple_xml and assigning the data to smarty variables. So I can access the "item" data.

Then it got to the comments part, how would I assign them to smarty, as well as allow smarty to re-iterate over them?

I am new to smarty today, Im a quick learner but hopefully quicker with your help.
