Parent template:

Code:

{foreach from=$myvar key=key item=item name=properties}
(
~{$smarty.foreach.properties.first}~
~{$smarty.foreach.properties.last}~
{include file='child_template.html'}
)
{/foreach}

Child template:

Code:

~{$smarty.foreach.properties.first}~
~{$smarty.foreach.properties.last}~

Smarty 3 output ($myvar is array containing 2 elements):

Code:

( ~1~ ~~ ~~ ~~ ) ( ~~ ~1~ ~~ ~~ )

As you can see from the above output $smarty.foreach.properties works correctly in parent template, however it does not work in child template.

Smarty 2 output ($myvar is array containing 2 elements):

Code:

( ~1~ ~~ ~1~ ~~ ) ( ~~ ~1~ ~~ ~1~ )
