Have you seen HTML Area? Version 3.0 (still in alpha, but reported by users to be fairly stable) is supposed to be cross platform. _________________ Jason

making these feature more easier to implement. |

I wouldn't rely to much on those third party extensions to add a Rich Edit text box to pages _________________ "Imagine a school with children that can read and write, but with teachers who cannot, and you have a metaphor of the Information Age in which we live." -Peter Cochrane |

I would not rely on them at all, because I know HTML and could just write it.
The problem is my users. In many cases I just need to give them the ability to make some things bold and add bullets, but explaining HTML tags to someone who uses Microsoft Word exclusivly can be daunting. _________________ Jason

Have a look at http://labs4.com/htmleditbox/2.0/index.php
It is written in Php, and is really good.
In the past I have created pages which I allow users to edit certain
sections of. This is great if your users dont know any HTML.
It is not free though but not expensive |

There is one FCKeditor
http://www.fckeditor.net/
It's easy to make a plugin to invoke it via Smarty if anyone interested I could post it

Although I am new to smarty, I have to agree that this plug-in is easy to implement. I think plug-in like this would be good solution for Smarty CMS applications, in fact this is my first plug-in I ever done.
Check it out . Don't judge to hard

Hi,
Mr Vini, I am trying to use your plugin but having problems...The editor is displayed fine, but it is not showing existing data I am trying to pass to it. If I view my source of generate page there is a value showing in the javascript (oFCKeditor.Value = "blahblah")... and Instance name is being set..also if I write any text into the editor and post, nothing is posted from the editor..(checking all values with a print_r($_POST))
Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?
Thanks, Joey |

Oops, ignore me. Figured out my problem after many hours of frustration. In my style sheet there happened to be a class with the same name as the text area I was trying to create and this is what caused all my problems. Doh. |
