|
|
Hi I have a script that i updated a year ago to version 2.6.26 at the time i was told that updating to a more current version would include a more detailed changed in the script.
Luckily the 2.6.26 plugged right in and no errors. Seems to work very well.
Now i am thinking ahead here and trying to be proactive and i realize that i will need to upgrade further, it is inevitable.
So might as well start the process i guess since i have time now to do this.
Can anyone explain basically what is all involved in the upgrade. I am guessing it will not just plug right in like the other version 2.2.26 did ?
I am concerned about having to change the foundation or guts of the script in order to upgrade to the current version of SMARTY.
Thanks. |

You should read the README and xxx_NOTES files which contain important information about API changes, depricated tags and other fuctional changes.
For best performance you should update your PHP scripts and templates whenever possible. But the Smarty2 API and depricated functions are still available if you use the SmartyBC (SmartyBC.class.php) class instead of the standard Smarty class. |
