Well I was wondering how the development of Smarty is going nowadays, not sure if they are preparing for the next maintenance release Smarty 3.1.13 or the next major/minor release. Anyway if Smarty 3.2 or Smarty 4 is in the making, I'd like to see Namespace being used in Smarty. It will help with development, especially considering PHP 5.3 is really becoming a standard nowadays. In the next major release of my own software support for PHP 5.2 will be dropped completely(as I implement namespace and datetime object). I hope Smarty will make good use of the new namespace feature too.
