hello, I've attempted to get the indent function to work, but it appears to be broken. Even the example on the documentation page for indent does not work:

http://smarty.php.net/manual/en/language.modifier.indent.php

What doesn't work about it? Gotta be more specific.

Be aware that browsers don't respect newlines, if that's what you are meaning. (look at the source, it's properly formatted)

It does not indent the lines in Safari (OS X), IE 5.2 (OS X) or my Mozilla browser (Camino .8, OS X) in my tests. But, that aside...the example on the documentation page for Indent does not have the proper formatting (as I would expect it to be, based on the example code). No spaces, no tabs. Confused

How does newline apply in this case?

it indents the html-source, of course.

this has been fixed in the cvs-version of the docs on june 28, see:
http://cvs.php.net/co.php/smarty/docs/en/designers/language-modifiers/language-modifier-indent.xml?r=1.2
