Not sure the best forum to post this into, but I figure feature requests should be pretty close.

Can the docs folder in the source _please_ be moved into a separate module?

I have a number of customers who have internal sites that only have an ISDN or dial-up link to the Internet and downloading 18Mb for 1Mb of actual code is just rediculous. Even on my 5Mbps ADSL link it takes almost 10 minutes to check out.

# du -sh /opt/smarty /opt/smarty/docs/

17M /opt/smarty/docs/

I agree, and I have asked for this before but can't seem to get help from the PHP sysops. I'll give it another try.

I think it is a good idea but in the meantime, why not just grab the libs dir?
