Smarty

Hello

I've just created my first template for my guestbook, worked as good as I wanted it to work...

then I made a second template, and suddenly I get error like
Warning: Smarty error: problem creating directory "templates_c/%%117/%%1172603085" in /home/.sites/65/site131/web/smarty/Smarty.class.php on line 1042

I did alot of checking (I originally had posted a long post)
and couldn't find the error...
then I went chmodding the templates_c directory to 777 and suddenly it worked!

it was on 745 which should be enough for php to write to?
it's also surprising that the first script worked, while the second didn't!?!

is there a possibility to check what privileges php need to be able to edit all the files? (it is very possible the server is not configured so well, I had on several occasions problems with my hosting company)
