bBlog is a blogging system written in PHP and released under the GPL.
It's smarty centric. All display code is a plugin, and through the use of modifiers it supports bbcode, textile etc. It's written with OO PHP with one bBlog class extending the smarty class. It's template driven, so that basicly, the template defines what the page does. You can include a {calendar} or {blogroll} or whatever whereever you want.
The looping things such as the Post loop, or comments loop use Smarty's looping block functionality ( in the CVS version of Smarty. It doesn't support trackback or pingback yet, nor rss feeds. But it does have an xml-rpc server, threaded comments, sections.
It's currently ALPHA software, and released to get developer feedback, beta testing etc. |

it would be cool, if your system will remberer, what I've checked and what I've typed in comments form. you can store my settings (name, email etc.) in cookies or sessions.
anyway, cool system

It does this now in CVS 
Version 0.7 will be released shortly, with many improvements, including being able to have smarty tags in posts. The main motivator for this ( and why i wanted it to be smarty centric ) is so you can have a photoblog, and add photos as easy as {photo:21} etc etc..

Version 0.7 has been released!
0.7 has many many new features, improvements and fixes. Don't be scared by the version number, if we were microsoft we'd call it bBlog 2003. But we're not.

Hi, bBlog is a nice pice of work I hav to say! Keep up!
Just a wich: If future versions would let me create pages in different levels I would be possible to use bBlog to do more then a blog.
