Get all variables from a template file

Is it possible to read all the possible variables that you have entered in youre template file? For example i have a file called index.tpl and in the file there are two smarty variables called {$pageTitle}, {$pageContent}, is it possible to read the template in a php script en get those variables back, just the name.....so only pageTitle and pageContent

as i am a beginner in both smart and php i don't quite understand howit works.. would you please explain it to me in a simpler way??

I see. Basically, there is no way to do it without sitting down and writing some code as described in the link I posted. Perhaps if you described your intent, there is another more simple approach you can use?
