Is there a way to have a second plugin directory containing my custom plugins? I want to keep them separate from the ones that come with Smarty because this will help make my site more maintainable. My plugins won't get mixed up or overwritten when I upgrade Smarty in the future. |

Yes, assign an array of paths to the plugins_dir member. Paths are searched in the order given.
eg:
$smarty->plugins_dir = array('/path/to/my/plugins/', path/to/smarty/pluins');
NOTE: You must explicitly define the smarty plugins dir (wherever you located it, usually smarty/libs/plugins) or move the plugins you intend to use from the distro into directories named in your path array. |
