hey,
I had this problem at first too. But you can easily fix this by some css.
.gmapSidebar {
overflow:auto;
height:450px;
}
choose a height at your choice. Now you get ... |

I have the same problem. I'm using 2.3.
Tabbed windows only work if directions are disabled.
