That would be a very intresting project, if you're looking for a framework already setup, have you looked at patUser? http://www.php-tools.de

hmmm. I just checked them out. Looks like all the projects rely on patDBC -- their custom database "abstraction" layer. Thats all fine and good except that despite being released 16 months ago, it still only works with MySql. If they only intend to support MySql, why bother with an abstraction layer which just slows things down? Otherwise, why don't they use someone else's abstraction layer?
No offence, but it makes me wonder how much effort is going into that project. I don't mean to be critical--I wonder if Frost would give some background on why that project was recommended. |
