I love the smarty debugger (so long as im not using register_object, in which case my circular references slow things RIGHT down). I love it so much, i'd very much like to spit out my own debugging information to it.

My suggestion is a simple smarty method such as

$template->debug("I got to here");

etc...

so that instead of nasty echo's and print_r's on my pages, which can look very nasty and even be difficult to read when using a bacground image, all of my debug output would appear at the top of the smarty debug output window..

Yours,

This really does sound like a pretty nifty idea. I'm not sure how it would be done or even if it is the right thing to do, but it sounds like something I'd like. I suppose the other thing to do is simply create a customized debug/error template that you use to render messages Smile I shouldn't say the "other" thing to do, but it is what I do.
