Hello all,

Is there a forum app that would be particularly suited to use with Smarty? So far the forums I've looked at do not seem to be easily modified to use Smarty. I just need basic forum functionality, to be used within a web app that uses Smarty for templating.

I wrote a forum system as part of a larger framework called "bbsengine" and it's all smarty based (very few if any "print" statements).. it's not perfect yet. I reply only to say that it's *possible* and pretty easy to do. Smile most of the forum systems I have experience with do not use Smarty at all but rather some sort of custom template system. if you want to have a look at what I've implemented, you can find it at http://zoidtechnologies.com/.

I know Gianni Tomasicchio wrote one about three years ago and I tested it
then quickly and it seemed to work. However the site where the code was is
not in active any more. With some detective work I found his name at:

but I do not know his email address, he was active here, as well, I suppose
his user name was "gianni".
