Smarty

Hello. I have been using smarty for a while now and I love it. Now as I am rebuilding my website with smarty I came to the point where I need to specify the sizes of my downloadable mp3 files which are retreived from the db and implemented in my template using {foreach}.
So each file path is retrieved from the db ... How can I get the filesize of the retrived files using the file path?
