Hi, this is my first time using Smarty, and I wonder if someone knows how to use Smarty in an open source forum software such as Phorum.
Thanks |

Best practice is to consult the tech forums of the specific forum software you want to use, they know best how you can connect the forum and it's existing template system (if any) to a specific template system. E.g. Phorum uses an own template system, as far as I read from the first google result pages on this topic. |

If you want to use smarty, I would suggest trying to start building a forum on your own.
2 months after I started using smarty I had the main parts of the forum done. (I spent alot of my time doodleing around and avoiding my website). _________________ Smarty all the way. |

Unfortunately I don't have time and great knowledge to build one. Maybe in 3 months but that's not what I have right now... |

Hmm, but there's no forum ....
Maybe you should try to use a Smarty powered CMS which supports a forum ... like CMS made simple (link) and his forum module (link). |

If you are not happy with it you can use other CMS like ImpressCMS / Xoops.
Have forum modules too, but I'm not so familar with it ... |
