I have been messing around with smarty for a while and I must say even for the small websites I use smarty, Just because I like using it so much. I thought I would share a recent project I did using Smarty.
I have released the Open Auto script. It is available at
http://sourceforge.net/projects/openauto/
I did get a domain name http://openautoclassifieds.com If you would like to see a live test site.
Let me know what you think and this is GPL so it is free to use for anyone.
Thanks for your hard work on Smarty, it really is great software and very flexible.
Regards,
Brandon |

I have a client interested in an auto advertising website so I'm looking for open source auto classified solutions and yours definitely looks the best, if not the only thing available. There are a million scripts out there for $20 - $500 but it's great to find something free / open source and actively supported/developed! I'm going to check it out now. I like to use open source stuff for my web development projects because if you're going to spend time learning something you might as well learn something which you can extend and which will hopefully experience broad community support. Good luck with it! _________________ Fletch

Thanks for the comment I am really glad to be able to give a little bit back to the opensource community. There are a few opensource auto scripts available. I have yet to take time and install them to see if they have better ways of doing things.
I think that is what makes opensource the best way because it is not just what I can do, it is a culmination of everyone's combined knowledge and ideas that make something great. |
