Release Candidate 1, pnCommerce, Trinity Series (pncommerce version .9x) is ready!

We are proud to announce the first Release Candidate for the next Release of pnCommerce.

It took a long time to finish the transformation from pnHTML to pnRender(Smarty). We added some more features, but the main point was the switch to the pnRender templating.

Beginning with this version, you will need a working pnRender module to use pnCommerce. The PostNuke Devs published RC2 of the Xanthia Theme Engine, the pnRender module is included there. Xanthia itself is not necessary for pnCommerce. We are providing a zip with the extracted pnRender module for
those of you that like to keep their old theme.

We need your help to make the next release stable and free of bugs, so please take some time and test this Release Candidate. It's stable and working (one of our dev's has made a live shop with this version), but don't copy this version onto your real life shop. Please perform tests first, remember this is an RC, there may be some serious bugs hidden that we have not encountered yet.

We have an upgrade-path from .80 up to the current version, so you can just proceed as usual: Copy, Update, Activate.

Here is the changelog for this Version: (the main changes)
+ all files (!) are using pnRender instead of pnHTML
+ new blocks, userdata and lastorder
+ switch in the admin settings if users are redirected to the categoryview or to the cartview after they added an item to the cart
+ statistics are rewritten
+ the old finalmods are now called order modifier and use our plugin scheme now. Now you can write modules for coupons for example
+ pluginhandling streamlined, it's easier now (one-click-install (TM))
+ generic paymethods
+ receiptsearch be orderstatus
+ new custom modules interface, makes it possible to dock for example a special stock management module, ... to pnc
+ added business flag for US tax handling, no tax is added then
+ added section for DB repairs to correct DB problems with the itemstock
+ mcrypt key for scrambling of credit card number now accessible in the configuration
+ you can enable/disable certain credit card types
+ encryption of credit card data is optional, but highly recommended
+ form validation via javascript
+ itemfake properties to fake another property (to show it in the category view for example)
+ cleaned the url during checkout
+ users can login before they start the checkout.
+ customer can add his vat identnumber now during checkout, we store it in the db and show it in the display version of the invoice, but not more.
+ We have an icon in the usersettings. users can change their address there and see their orders
+ Pemission system updated
+ error logging
- locales problem is hopefully fixed now
- a lot of fixes and changes in the lang files
- improved internal structure
- lang files have a _pnc_ prefix instead of _ to make them unique in the PostNuke installation to prevent collisions
- old templating system removed (it's replaced with pnRender, that is a wrapper for Smarty (see http://smarty.php.net)
- setting of default pay-/shipmethod works now better with generic SM/PM
- ImageMagick should work better now, thanks to tduarte!

We have 2 more things that we will provide a little bit later, a GUI for the permission system, specialized for pnCommerce and a top10 bestseller block, thanks to Maclau.
