3.0.2 has been released. More minor bug fixes:
- fixed typo in compile_continue
- fixed security in {fetch} plugin
- changed back plugin parameters to two. second is template object
with transparent access to Smarty object
- fixed {config_load} scoping form compile time to run time
Be sure to clear compile/cache files upon a library update!

Just checking-in after a long while of being away with very sporadic lurking on the progress of Smarty 3....
I am still only going over the release notes and have yet to start examining the code-base but I am already impressed by not only the new features that have been introduced but also the insightful and straight-forward ways that they are expressed in the new syntax and API.
I am pleased to see that many of Smarty 2's syntax deficiencies have been thoughtfully addressed. Moreso, it is very nice indeed to see the way in which some of the ad-hoc, bolted-in extensions which many of us grafted onto Smarty 2 (in an attempt to enable common and specific use-case-scenarios) have been implemented in generalized and simplified ways. Kudos!
I look forward to discovering what you all have been up to these last months and years as I delve into the code-base.
In the meantime, I wish to express my congratulations to Monte and Uwe and the entire dev team for the long work and shepherding that has resulted in bringing to fruition the next generation of Smarty. Good on you all! |
