|
|
A preview of Smarty 3.1 (DEV) is available under the branches directory.
http://smarty-php.googlecode.com/svn/branches/Smarty_3_1_DEV/
A lot of changes are under way, here are the notes (and these are being updated continuously):
http://smarty-php.googlecode.com/svn/branches/Smarty_3_1_DEV/README_3...
A quick rundown of notable stuff:
Quote: | * 2.0 compatibility removed, moved to SmartyBC class
* Full UTF-8 compatibility for plugins
* implementation of setters/getters for some properties (more to come)
* Plugin API enhancements and improvements
* Compiler/Runtime performance enhancements/improvements
* in-line filters applied to blocks of tpl source
* resource API enhancements
* relative template include paths now possible in-template
* addressing specific template_dir from array now possible
* mixed resources from extends: now possible
* escape_html property added for simple global escapement
* compile_check only on cache miss now possible
* automated recompile on smarty version change |
We are looking for feedback, nothing is set in stone. Please give it a try if you have some time!

Any hope to include GETTEXT as Smarty Native (e.g.)
^ Currently I do this via prefilter and postfilter.
But it does not always work nice in JavaScript and etc.
the output should be
Code: |
echo _("HELLO PEOPLE!");
|
poEdit can easily scan a compiled template folder to create a po file. |
