Hi guys, I'm getting a blank dashboard on the admin home page in WHMCS and after logging errors I only get "Smarty Error: Data missing", with no error number or anything else to indicate the problem. I've done a full clean install of WHMCS and imported the existing database back in but the problem remains, so it's not missing any files as such.
Any ideas how I can obtain further info to hopefully gain more clues of the origin of the problem?
Thanks |

I would conclude this is an error generated by WHMCS and not by Smarty itself.
A Smarty error may look like:
Exception: lib/smarty/sysplugins/smarty_internal_templatecompilerbase.php:6 - Syntax error in template "file:content.tpl" on line 6 "{/if}" unknown tag "ifclose"
I mean, a Smarty error looks like a typical error message with line numbers and an explanation of what is wrong.
What you have may be a message logged from the catch block of a try/catch construct, and the code is missing something to give to Smarty or getting something from Smarty.
Is WHMCS written in PHP? If so, and if you can install the XDEBUG extension for PHP, you may be able to capture the backtrace. |
