Hi
In my job, we have installed the Smarty-3.1.21-dev version, and we found that the performance of our site it´s no good.
My question is, the version of our smarty can affect the performance of our site ?
Best regards, |

1. Define "no good", please.
2. Why the hell you're using a dev. version in production?
3. Yes.
4. Developing on windows is probably what causing your performance issues, to begin with. |

I, too, from a number of versions ago, had complaints about very slow performance and blamed Smarty (as revealed by cachegrind).
However, the latest version or three really is very much faster. (Currently using 3.1.30 on PHP5.6.)
Of course, delivery times is directly related to how much work Smarty has to do. Be sure to implement caching.
And "fully loaded"? With respect to Smarty, your only concern is the time it takes, after PHP starts, for the HTML document to get spitted out of PHP to the web server. |

None of which is relevant to Smarty.
Besides, you didn't provide any Smarty specific details to measure.
It's easy to get wildly different results. Caching or not, amount of blocks per page, how do you deliver data to the page. Amount of the data you present. These only what comes to my mind instantly. |

Hi AnrDaemon
I no no please, do not get me wrong ... I´m not try to say that the smarty is the problem... no no.... I just think that if we are using an old version, we are not taking advantage of smarty |

Only you can say that for certain.
Setup your own performance tests, and you will be able to compare not only different versions of Smarty in your environemnt, but also effects of your own changes. |
