Hi,

I'm thinking of using Smarty Plugin 2.4.2 for one of my Proprietary project however I am not sure if it is allowed as per LGPL license term for Smarty.

Can you please help me to understand if it is allowed to use Smart plugin in Proprietary project which is not LGPL ?

Re-read the license, LGPL explicitly allows you to use library in closed source projects, provided you leave it unaltered or publish changes to the library code.
But you must not use Smarty2 for new projects.
