$use_sub_dirs has been set to false in Smarty.class.php (and I have tried setting it again when creating a new smarty object), but I still get errors like this when migrating a previously working site to a new server:
Warning: Smarty error: problem writing temporary file '/home/virtual/site215/fst/var/www/html/templates_c/4086a41bf1ac7' in /home/virtual/site215/fst/var/www/html/lib/Smarty.class.php on line 1102

any ideas? templates_c and cache have both been chown'd and chmod'd correctly, I believe. |

By the looks of the filenames, it appears that Smarty is observing the use_sub_dirs option. The fact that it can not write files, is another matter. Are you certain that you can write files to that location from a PHP script?
I hate to ask, but just in-case--you did empty templates_c and cache out after the migration, yes? |

I just wrote a test script using fopen and got a safe mode error... so I guess that would be it... |
