I think I've found a bug in <fs:html_select_date /> function. When this tag is called more than one time in one template, smarty says:
Code: |
Fatal error: Cannot redeclare smarty_function_html_select_date() (previously declared in c:\web\apache\htdocs\a\lib\tpl\plugins\function.html_select_date.php:22) in c:\web\apache\htdocs\a\lib\tpl\plugins\function.html_select_date.php on line 22 |
<fs:html_select_date /> tag names are different.
and btw, your formsess-cvs tarball has only samples. no libraries/filters etc. included. check that.
.. and the bugfix:
file: formsess/smarty_plugins/function.fs_html_select_date.php
line: 13
change `require` to `require_once` _________________ http://www.baubas.net

Sorry about the bug in html_select_(date|time). I have modified the way the smarty plugin is included a few days ago, and obviously I didn't use require_once
It's fixed now, in both html_select_date & time.
I have also fixed the CVS tarball, I don't really know what happened during the checkout for that archive... it's OK now. |

I can't get Formsess to work. I keep getting the following error:
Code: | Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /usr/local/share/pear/Formsess/smarty_plugins/function.fs_option.php on line 2 |
I use version 2.0.0-RC2. With the CVS version I don't get this error anymore, but on the website it says the CVS is not working. I tried the CVS version, but I can only get the javascript validation to work.
I have to finish a very big project soon and I need form validation together with Smarty, so I thought Formsess would be a very good solution. If I don't get Formsess to work I will need to look for another form validator. Please help! |

Yes, this is due to the change is smarty plugins structure that has occured at some time, don't remember when...
If still interested, get the pre-2.0.0 version that was released a couple of days ago and features lots of bugfixes and improvements:

It's too bad this addon hasn't appeared to go anywhere...
client side validation is a must (IMO).
If I get some freetime I hope to look into adding JS validation to Monte's smartyvalidator, as well as integrating the auto-population of form values based off of _REQUEST.
As for formcat.. it's a bummer that code isn't GPL |

Due to heavy changes in my professional and personal life, I don't have the occasion nor the time to maintain formsess any longer (for instance, I no longer use smarty, so I have like no way to test what I'm doing...).
If anyone is willing to fix issues in formsess, etc etc, I'll be happy to answer questions the best I can but this is the best I can do. |
