im looking for a library that will help me build a visual website editor (with drag n drop functionality) just like all these wordpress page builders where you can edit the template directly.

Is this possible? can you recommend anything?

so basically i want to create my own theme builder similar to elementor, divi, etc. that already exist in wordpress, but i want to create it for my own project which is pure php/html with smarty.

Why can't you use any of the existing platforms?
If you plan to overthrow any of the big players on the market, you'll need something better than just ability to move elements around the page.
