Howdy, not a Smarty issue per se, just wondering if anyone is using Eclipse.

Still typing most code on a 'doze box, own Textpad but these days using the closed-source but OK freeware app psPad, both of which support customized syntax color coding.

Eclipse does not seem to have a plugin to deal with Smarty, which makes viewing templates a less than optimal experience.

Still, do like the code-folding & auto-complete, so find myself trying to get used to Eclipse for PHP code, but sticking with the text editor for templates.

Have been looking for a good IDE, hate to say it but as an old VB coder (Studio v6 was the last upgrade, never took to .Net) nothing beats M$ for debugging, step-through, & a consistent look across all the languages it supports.

Alas, JCX's VS.PHP, a .Net implementation, didn't seem to want to allow for the Apache/PHP/MySQL setup I already have running, and for some reason kept insisting on iexplore as the browser. Go figure!

Did dl a trial of Zend Studio, but never installed it, should have looked at their license policy first. It seemed a little odd, last time I looked it was the user that made the purchase, not the machine.

Am not totally opposed to a commercial IDE, but of course an open source offering would be preferable.
