basically, grab all the english .sgml files from CVS. Those would be:
appendixes.sgml
designers.sgml
getting-started.sgml
manual.sgml
preface.sgml
programmers.sgml
Translate them, send them to me. I'll commit them and I'll try my best to compile them (I'm not sure how the docbook tools will handle chinese characters)
Beyond that, you need to maintain the docs. That usually means looking at the changes between point releases and adjust accordingly. |

hi! hick
I think it's not one person's responsibility and though one can finished it by himself but it was a hard work to do and to maintain for long time.
In www.phpx.com, we have a team had begin the work in several days ago , we have lots of volunteer to do that things.
so I suggest you to join us to do the valuable things.

sorry, we have a team had begin that work several days ago. And we only get the english Documentation(2.6.0), and to translate it to chinese.
we want to compile it to '.chm' . We didn't download the sgml files , does that matter?? |

You are probably best off translating the .sgml files. This way they can be compiled in to many different formats easier (html, pdf, chm, etc), and the files will coincide with the other languages. |

I see, the .sgml is the standard
but we have nearly finished all the translate work.
It seems we should do that once again |
